The paperwork
Terms of Service & Refund Policy
Effective July 7, 2026
TL;DR: These are the rules for playing Street Wars and buying things in it. Plain English where we can, legal English where we must.
Welcome to Street Wars, a free-to-play browser trading-card game at playstreetwars.com (also reachable via streetwars.gg and streetwars.cards, which redirect there). These Terms of Service, including the Refund Policy in Section 13 (together, the "Terms"), are an agreement between you and the operator of Street Wars (“Street Wars”, “we”, “us”).
By playing Street Wars — as a guest or with an account — or by making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not play or purchase.
1. Who Can Play
TL;DR: You need to be 13 or older. Under 18? Get a parent or guardian's okay — especially before anyone spends money.
Street Wars has a stylized crime and turf-war theme. It contains no gore or sexual content, but it is intended for players aged 13 and up.
- You must be at least 13 years old to play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and the associated personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us at the support address in Section 15.
- If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only play with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, and that parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.
- Purchases by minors: real-money purchases may only be made by an adult account holder, or by a minor with the express authorization of a parent or guardian using a payment method that parent or guardian is entitled to use. Parents and guardians are responsible for purchases made with their authorization or their payment methods.
2. Playing as a Guest vs. Playing with an Account
TL;DR: You can play the whole game without an account. An account (email + password) saves your collection across devices. Guest progress lives only in your browser — clear your browser data and it's gone.
Guest play. You can play Street Wars fully without creating an account. Guest progress is stored locally in your browser (a "local profile"). We cannot recover a guest profile: if you clear your browser data, switch browsers or devices, or your browser deletes the data, that progress is lost. We are not responsible for lost guest profiles.
Accounts. An account requires an email address and a password (stored server-side only as a cryptographic hash — we never store your plain-text password). An account carries your collection and progress across devices, and is required to make any real-money purchase.
Your responsibilities:
- Give us an accurate email address you control — it is how purchases attach to your account and how you reset your password.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One account per person, for your own personal, non-commercial use. Don't sell, rent, trade, or share accounts — accounts and everything attached to them are non-transferable.
Account deletion. There is currently no in-game self-serve deletion. To delete your account and associated personal data, email the support address in Section 15 from the account's email address and we will process the request. Deleting an account permanently forfeits its collection, progress, and entitlements, including purchased items.
3. Names and In-Game Communication
TL;DR: Rivals see your display name, deck names, and crew invite codes — nothing else. There's no free-text chat, only preset phrases. Keep your names clean.
Street Wars has no free-text chat. In-match "quick-comms" are canned, preset phrases only. The only player-authored text other players may ever see is: your display name (shown to rivals in online matches), your deck names, and 4-character crew invite codes.
Because rivals can see them, your display name and deck names must not be offensive, hateful, or sexually explicit, must not impersonate others, must not contain personal information (yours or anyone else's), and must not advertise anything. We may change or reset any name that breaks this rule, and repeated violations are grounds for suspension under Section 9.
4. Free to Play, and What "Never Pay to Win" Means Here
TL;DR: Every card that affects gameplay can be earned by playing, free. Paying is a shortcut and a way to support the game — not a way to buy power nobody else can earn.
Street Wars is free to play. As of the effective date of these Terms, every gameplay-affecting card can be earned through play without spending money. Real-money purchases give you cards faster, plus cosmetic and progression extras — they do not grant gameplay power that cannot also be earned free.
This is a design commitment we intend to keep. It is a description of how the game works today, not a warranty: Section 6 explains that cards, balance, and content change over time, and those changes apply equally to items you earned and items you bought.
5. Real-Money Purchases
TL;DR: Purchases go through Stripe, need a signed-in account, and are delivered to that account instantly and automatically. They're licenses tied to your account email — not transferable property.
What's for sale. Current offerings (prices in USD; local taxes may apply): the Founder's Pack ($29.99 — all cards, an exclusive cosmetic face, the current season pass, and 1,000 Credits), the Complete Collection ($24.99 — all cards), and the Blood Money Season Pass ($9.99 — the premium reward lane for the current season). We may change offerings and prices at any time; changes don't affect purchases already completed. There are no subscriptions and no auto-renewing charges — every purchase is a one-time payment you initiate.
How purchase works. Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe's hosted checkout. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself.
Delivery. Purchases require a signed-in Street Wars account. Entitlements are attached to your account email and are delivered immediately and automatically once payment succeeds. There is no shipping and no waiting period — and this immediacy matters for refunds (see the Refund Policy, Section 13).
Non-transferable. Entitlements are bound to the purchasing account. They cannot be moved to another account, gifted, resold, or exchanged for money or anything else outside the game.
Support grants. We may grant entitlements or virtual items at our discretion for support, testing, or promotional purposes. Discretionary grants are not purchases and carry no payment or refund rights.
6. Virtual Items: Credits, Cards, Cosmetics, and Street Cred
TL;DR: In-game stuff is a revocable license to use it inside Street Wars — not property, not money. Credits can't be bought with cash directly, have no cash value, and can't be refunded or transferred. Cards get rebalanced over time.
License, not ownership. Cards, cosmetic faces, season-pass tiers, Credits, and all other in-game items and currencies ("Virtual Items") are a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use those items within Street Wars. You do not own them, and they exist only inside the game.
Credits. Credits are the in-game soft currency. You earn them by playing; some purchases also include them. Credits are spendable on cosmetic faces, card packs, and shop cards. Credits are not directly purchasable for money, have no cash value, are non-refundable, and are non-transferable. They cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or cashed out.
Street Cred is a ladder-ranking score, not a currency or an item of value.
Things change. Street Wars is a live game. We may add, modify, rebalance, or retire cards, mechanics, cosmetics, currencies, and features at any time — this has already happened and will happen again. Balance changes apply to all copies of a card regardless of how they were obtained. We will not use balance changes as a pretext to strip paying players of what they paid for: if you bought cards or a collection, you keep those cards in whatever form they currently exist in the game. But we do not guarantee that any card, item, or currency will keep any particular power level, appearance, availability, or utility.
No real-world trading. Selling, buying, or trading accounts, Virtual Items, or Credits for real money or anything of value outside the game is prohibited and voids the license to those items.
7. Seasons and the Season Pass
TL;DR: Season pass rewards are claimable during that season. Seasons rotate on a schedule we set and can change. Claim your tiers before the season ends.
Street Wars runs in seasons. The Blood Money Season Pass unlocks the premium reward lane for the season in which it is purchased. Pass tiers are claimable for the duration of that season; rewards you have claimed stay on your account after the season ends, but unclaimed tiers expire when the season ends.
We do not currently publish fixed season end dates. We reserve the right to define, extend, shorten, or otherwise change season timing and season content. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice in-game before ending a season. A season pass applies only to its own season and does not carry into future seasons.
8. Fair Play: Cheating, Automation, and Exploits
TL;DR: The server is the referee. Cheat, exploit, or automate and you can lose your account and everything on it — including purchases, with no refund.
Street Wars uses server-side validation: the server, not your browser, is the authority on your economy, collection, and match results. Client-side claims that fail validation are rejected.
You must not:
- use bots, scripts, macros, or any automation to play, farm currency, or manipulate matchmaking;
- exploit bugs for gain, or manipulate, forge, or tamper with game data, network traffic, imports, or the client;
- attempt to bypass rate limits, anti-cheat, or server-side validation, or probe or attack our infrastructure;
- deliberately manipulate rankings (including win-trading);
- reverse engineer the service, except where the law expressly permits it despite this term.
Consequences. If we reasonably determine you have violated this section, we may — depending on severity — reset affected progress or currency, remove Virtual Items obtained through the violation, suspend the account, or terminate it. Termination or suspension for cheating includes forfeiture of all Virtual Items and entitlements on the account, including purchased ones, without refund. We may also block access from guest profiles involved in violations. Where the facts are unclear we aim to warn before we terminate, but we are not obliged to for serious or repeated violations.
9. Suspension and Termination
TL;DR: We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules. You can stop playing anytime, and can ask us by email to delete your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the game if you materially breach these Terms (including Sections 3, 8, and 14), if required by law, or if a payment you made is reversed as described in Section 14. Where practical and appropriate, we will tell you the reason and, for fixable problems, give you a chance to fix them.
You may stop using Street Wars at any time and may request account deletion by email (Section 2). Termination — by you or by us — ends your license to all Virtual Items and entitlements on the account. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including licenses granted to us, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms) survive.
If we ever permanently shut the game down, we will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice. Because Virtual Items are licenses with no cash value, shutdown does not entitle you to compensation for them, except where a refund is required by applicable law for a recent purchase.
10. Privacy Summary
TL;DR: We keep the minimum: your email, a hashed password, your game progress, and match records. Analytics can be switched off in-game. We don't sell your data. Deletion is by email request.
What we hold on our servers: your account email, a scrypt hash of your password (never the password itself), your game profile and progress, and a ledger of matches played. Our servers are hosted with DigitalOcean in the United States.
Third parties we use:
- Stripe processes payments. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us, and Stripe's privacy policy applies to them.
- Google Analytics 4 measures site and game usage. You can opt out of analytics in-game via the Usage Stats setting. We do not run ads, and advertising consent signals are set to denied.
- Klaviyo delivers our password-reset emails.
We do not sell your personal information.
Access and deletion. There is no in-game self-serve data tool today. To request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and personal data, email the support address in Section 15 from your account's email address. We honor deletion requests, subject to records we must keep for legal, security, or payment-dispute reasons (for example, purchase records).
A fuller standalone privacy policy is planned; this summary describes our practices today.
11. Service Availability and Changes
TL;DR: It's a live online game run by a small operation. It will sometimes be down, and it will change.
We work to keep Street Wars available and fun, but we do not promise uninterrupted, error-free service. We may take the game offline for maintenance, updates, or emergencies, and we may change, add, or remove features, modes, and content at any time. Online features require an internet connection and depend on infrastructure partly outside our control.
12. Our Content and Your Limited License
TL;DR: The game, art, cards, and code are ours. You get a personal license to play. Streaming your gameplay is welcome.
Street Wars — including its code, card designs, artwork, names, audio, and text — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and play the game through your browser for personal, non-commercial entertainment.
Streaming or creating videos of your own gameplay is welcome, including monetized streams on platforms like YouTube or Twitch, so long as you don't imply we sponsor you and don't distribute the game's files or assets themselves.
13. Refund Policy
TL;DR: Everything we sell is digital and lands on your account the instant payment clears. Because delivery is instant, completed purchases are generally final — but genuine billing errors get fixed, EU/UK withdrawal rights work exactly as the law says, and faulty content gets remedied. Email support@playstreetwars.com with your account email and Stripe receipt for any refund request.
13.1 What you are buying. All Street Wars purchases (Founder's Pack, Complete Collection, Blood Money Season Pass) are digital content: entitlements attached to your signed-in account and delivered immediately and automatically once Stripe confirms payment. There is no physical product and no delivery delay.
13.2 The general rule. Because digital content is delivered in full the moment you pay, all purchases are final and non-refundable once delivered, except as set out in this policy or as required by the law where you live.
13.3 When we will refund or fix a purchase. Contact us and we will make it right if: (a) you were charged but the entitlement did not appear on your account (failed delivery) — we will deliver it or refund you; (b) you were charged twice for the same item, or charged an amount that doesn't match the listed price — we will refund the error; (c) a purchase landed on the wrong account due to a fault on our side — we will move or refund it; or (d) the law of your country requires a refund in your situation. Please contact us within 14 days of the charge where you can; we will still look at genuine errors reported later.
13.4 EU and UK customers — your 14-day withdrawal right, and how it ends. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. For digital content not supplied on a physical medium, the law allows that right to end early: it is lost once we begin delivery, provided you gave express prior consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal. Our checkout asks for exactly that consent before payment, and delivery is immediate — so in the normal case, by the time your purchase completes, the withdrawal right has ended. If delivery somehow did not occur (see Section 13.3(a)), your withdrawal right is intact and you may cancel for a full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing us. This early-end rule affects only the change-your-mind right; it does not touch your rights for faulty content (Section 13.5).
13.5 Faulty or misdescribed digital content. If paid content is faulty, doesn't work as described, or you never actually received what you paid for, you are entitled to the remedies your local consumer law provides — in the EU and UK that includes having the content brought into conformity, or a price reduction or refund where it can't be. Tell us what's wrong and we will fix the content, redeliver the entitlement, or refund the purchase, as the law requires. Game balance changes, card rebalancing, meta shifts, and seasonal content rotation are part of how a live game works and are not defects.
13.6 Credits and other virtual items. Credits are not sold directly for money. Credits included in a purchase (for example, the 1,000 Credits in the Founder's Pack), and anything acquired by spending Credits, have no cash value and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Season pass tiers you did not claim before a season ended are not refundable. We do not issue partial refunds by clawing back part of a purchase's contents — if a refund is issued, Section 13.8 applies to the whole purchase.
13.7 What is not a refund reason. To be straightforward about it, we do not refund because: you changed your mind after delivery (outside any surviving legal withdrawal right); you earned or could have earned the same cards for free by playing; a card you bought access to was later rebalanced; you stopped playing; your account was suspended or terminated for violating these Terms (including cheating — see Section 8); or a season ended with pass tiers unclaimed.
13.8 What happens when a refund is issued. Refunds go back to the original payment method via Stripe. Because the purchase is being unwound, the entitlements and Virtual Items that purchase delivered are revoked from the account, including any unspent Credits it granted; if Credits from the purchase were already spent, we may remove the items they bought or deduct an equivalent Credit balance.
13.9 Chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, Section 14 applies: the funded entitlements may be revoked and the account suspended while the dispute is resolved, and restored if the dispute resolves in our favor. Please email us first — it is faster for both of us.
13.10 How to request a refund. Email support@playstreetwars.com from your account's email address with: the account email, the item purchased, the date, and the Stripe receipt number (from your email receipt). We aim to respond within a few business days. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under applicable law that cannot be waived by contract.
14. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
TL;DR: Something wrong with a charge? Email us first — we fix genuine billing errors. If a payment is reversed through your bank, the items it paid for get removed, because delivery already happened.
If you believe a charge is wrong — duplicate, unauthorized, or an item didn't arrive — please contact us at the support address in Section 15 before disputing the charge with your bank or card issuer. We resolve genuine billing errors, and a support email is almost always faster than a formal dispute.
Because entitlements are delivered automatically the moment payment succeeds, a chargeback reverses payment for content you have already received. If a payment is disputed or reversed, we may revoke the entitlements and Virtual Items that payment funded, and we may suspend the account while the dispute is resolved — this protects the game's economy; it is not a punishment for exercising your rights. If the dispute resolves in our favor or you re-pay, we will restore the entitlements and account. If your bank finds the charge was genuinely unauthorized or in error, we will honor that outcome. Repeated bad-faith chargebacks on delivered content are grounds for termination under Section 9. Nothing in this section limits any statutory right you have to dispute a payment.
15. Contact and Support
TL;DR: One email address for everything: support, refunds, deletion, legal.
For support, purchase issues, refund requests, account deletion, privacy requests, or legal notices, contact: support@playstreetwars.com. We are a small operation; we aim to respond within a few business days.
16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
TL;DR: The free game is provided as-is. For paid content, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months (or $50, whichever is greater). Consumer laws that say otherwise win.
Disclaimer. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Street Wars is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any Virtual Item will retain any particular characteristics or availability.
Limitation. To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost progress, lost profits, or loss of Virtual Items; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the game or these Terms is limited to the greater of USD $50 or the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Consumer-law carve-out. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you keep every right those laws give you, and these Terms are to be read subject to them.
17. Consumer Notices: EU, UK, and California
TL;DR: Local consumer laws still protect you. Here's what applies where.
EU and UK consumers. You normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from online purchases. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once delivery begins if you expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged losing the withdrawal right — our checkout asks for exactly that consent before payment (see Refund Policy, Section 13.4). Separately, you have statutory remedies (repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund) if paid digital content is faulty or not as described; nothing in these Terms limits those remedies. These Terms do not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
California consumers. Our refund policy is stated in full in Section 13: except as described there, purchases of immediately delivered digital content are not refundable. We do not sell your personal information. There are no auto-renewing subscriptions in Street Wars. Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California users may reach the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
Everyone. If any of these Terms conflicts with a consumer right the law says we can't override, the law wins and the rest of the Terms still apply.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
TL;DR: Talk to us first — most problems are fixable over email. Formal disputes go to the courts of our home jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
Before starting any formal proceeding, please email us and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Street Wars is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to sue or be sued at home, that right is unaffected. Either party may also use small-claims court where eligible.
19. Changes to These Terms
TL;DR: If we change the rules meaningfully, we'll say so before the change bites.
We may update these Terms as the game and the law evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and give reasonable advance notice — in-game, on the site, or by email to account holders — before the changes take effect. Continuing to play or purchase after the effective date of a change means you accept it. If you don't accept a change, stop using the game and, if you have an account, you may request deletion under Section 2. Changes do not retroactively alter refund rights for purchases already made.
20. General Terms
TL;DR: Standard legal housekeeping.
These Terms (including the Refund Policy in Section 13 and any published game rules referenced here) are the entire agreement between you and us about Street Wars. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale of the game, and will notify you if we do. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
